Football Jackets 4-4
The heavy rain on Friday night didn’t dampen the Yellowjacket’s spirits. Under the lights on home terrain, they cruised past Mt Abe to a sunny, 47-6 victory, bringing their season record to 4-4.
The team capitalized on several first half possessions to score and defense didn’t allow a first down the entire game.
A 51-yard touchdown run by Jay Atherton opened the scoring for Milton. Quarterback Anthony Notaro led the Jackets in rushing attack with 128 yards on nine carries and scored the next 3 touchdowns.
David Mongeon rushed 88 yards for another touchdown.
Coach Chris Hughes is deservedly proud of the progress the boys have made this season. “This was a very complete game for us. With the exception of the kick-off return for a TD, we played an outstanding game. Jeremy Fortune has continued to improve defensively for us and had a huge interception early in the ball game. Dino Georgakis and Brent Dashnow led the defense in tackles from their linebacker positions. Lance Champney once again ran all over the field making plays. Tyler Wasserbauer has really stepped up, playing well on both sides of the ball. Jay showed off his speed with a TD on our first offensive possession. Anthony Notaro continues to run the offense well. Brent, Lance and David Mongeon also added TD’s. Adam ‘Kicker’ Campbell converted 5 PAT’s as well as having 2 tackles on defense.”
The team travels to Rice for the final game of the regular season this Friday.
