Route 7 project almost done

Pike Industries worked on Saturday to complete the improvements to Rte. 7 before the asphalt plants close--usually around Nov. 1. The paving crew finished Gimlet Hill (photo, above) and parts of Rte. 7 south of McDonalds. In addition to continuing their work on the main road, crews will also be paving the side road entrances, installing crosswalks in the village area and line striping from the Milton/Colchester town line proceeding north. Motorists will continue to experience major traffic delays, but the end is in sight.
