Milton's All Star Teams Announced

During the week of June 15 a total of 68 kids competed for spots on the Milton All Star teams. If you have ever heard of or even watched some of the Little League World Series Baseball and Softball games, this is the beginning of that tournament. Each District within Vermont holds a District Tournament for the 9/10, 10/11 and 11/12 age groups. The 9/10 and 10/11 District winners move on to compete at the State competition level. The 11/12 age groups compete at the State Tournament level and the State winner moves on to Bristol, CT to compete at the Regional level. A win in Bristol earns a spot in the LLWS in Williamsport, PA!

The 2009 - 9/10 baseball tournament will be hosted in St. Albans beginning on Monday, July 6 and the 10/11-baseball tournament is hosted by Essex Jct. beginning on Friday, July 17. The 11/12-baseball tournament is split into two pools – one hosted in Essex Town and the other hosted here in Milton beginning on Saturday, June 27 at 10 a.m. The State Tournament is held in our District every 4 years and this year Milton will be the proud host of this tournament beginning on Monday, July 27 and running through August 2. The 9/10 State Tournament will be held in St. Albans and the 10/11 State Tournament will be held in Brattleboro beginning on July 31.

Please attend and support the Milton 11/12-baseball team play at 1 p.m. this Saturday at Bombardier Park. The 9/10-baseball team will play in St. Albans on Tuesday, July 7 at 6 p.m. and the 10/11 team plays their first game on Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. These boys work extremely hard to represent Milton. Please join their proud parents to provide your encouragement and support

The 9/10 and 11/12 softball tournaments are hosted in Swanton at Raleigh Field beginning on Monday, July 6. The Milton teams will play their first game on Wednesday, July 8 at 6 p.m. This is a double elimination tournament so the game schedule is dependent on wins and losses. The State Tournament for the 9/10 team will be held in North Burlington and the 11/12 State Tournament will be held in Lyndonville, VT. Both start on July 24.

Please join the proud parents of these girls to watch their first game on July 8 and support their efforts to move on in this competition. They all work extremely hard to represent Milton in this tournament and would love your support and encouragement.
