Baseball By ZENDA FARRELL | Milton Independent Sports Writer In a 3-0 victory over Burlington last Thursday, sophomore Matt Goulet threw a 6 hit game and struck out 3 to beat the previously undefeated Seahorses. Kyle McRae led offense with 3 singles and one run. Jeremy Peet, Colton Carpenter and Corey Hurley each had 2 hits. Bryan Geary, Joe Emery and Matt Goulet drove in single runs. Geary stepped on to the mound to secure the final out. The boys struggled against the St Johnsbury Hilltoppers on Saturday, bowing out 20-0 after 5 innings. Alex Duchesneau took the loss for Milton. Kyle MacRae was the offensive leader with a double. On Monday, a home game against South Burlington had an 8-3 finale. Corey Hurley was the losing pitcher. Hurley slammed in 2 hits for the ’Jackets and Matt Goulet doubled. The Yellowjackets record is now 4-3. Milton plays Rice Memorial in Burlington on Tuesday at 4:30, hosts MMU on Thursday also at 4:30 and Colchester on Saturday at 11 a.m.. Go Yellowjackets!! |
