Winning streak continues for the PeeWee Warriors

Milton Warriors get instructions from their coaches during the Rouses Point Tournament.

What an exciting season your Milton PeeWee Team continues to have as they skate past many opponents. After crushing CSB B team with a 9 to 1 victory, we headed north to St. Albans for a same day, Sunday evening game. The boys were tired but ready for a physical game against the St. Albans AB players. It was a nail biting game with Milton 's Brian Clark lighting the board first, but St. Albans came back just about 8 minutes later. Neither team scored in the second period. 5:44 seconds into the third period St. Albans broke the tie, until Cody Boyson, after being checked hard, received passes from Hunter Goodwin and Brandon Bushey saying "not on our shift" to tie the score again. The game ended in a 2 : 2 tie. Thanksgiving weekend began with a game against Burlington B. The game ended in a 5:2 win for Milton with two goals from Cody Boyson and one goal each from Jackson Hickey, Ian Pelkey and Chris Johnson. It was a tough game with 8 out of the 9 penalties going to Milton. Sunday morning's home game paired us against Harwood. Even though Harwood scored first early in the game, the Warriors stayed strong with Cody Boyson and Jackson Hickey scoring in the second period and Chris Johnson wrapping up the game for a 3:1 win.

The following weekend was another three game situation. It began at Cairns Arena against the CSB AB team. The game was a 2 zip win for Milton allowing a shut out for Brandon Rhoades. Both goals were scored by Jackson Hickey with assists on the first goal by Keith Mercure and William Jenkins, and assists with the second goal by Jared Amstein and Hunter Goodwin. Without much time to waste or play, it was off to Stowe to challenge their AB team. It was a great game with a 2 to 1 win for Milton. As in the earlier game, Jackson Hickey scored both goals with assists from Cody Boyson and Hunter Goodwin on the first goal and an unassisted second goal. Our home and final game that weekend was against the Northfield Stars AB. It was another shut out for Brandon Rhoades with a final score of 6 to 0. Goals were scored by Jackson Hickey, Cody Boyson, Keith Mercure, and Ryan Lucia and two goals scored by defenseman Ian Pelkey.

The next weekend was also a threegame weekend opening in Chazy, NY with an extremely physical and rough game. The boys hung tough and beat the New York team 5 to 3. Jackson Hickey scored the only goal for the Warriors in the first period. The team quickly became tired of the physical aggression and turned their frustration toward scoring four more goals in the third period. Alex Roberge from Cody Boyson, then Hunter Goodwin from Ian Pelkey, and another goal from Cody Boyson off a pass from Brandon Bushey and then Jackson Hickey finished the game with a pass he received from William Jenkins. Our home game Sunday morning was against CVSA (Montpelier). The game ended in a 3/3 tie. Milton scored all of their goals in the second period. The first two goals were scored by Cody Boyson unassisted with the third goal by Alex Roberge. Montpelier had only scored one goal until the third period when they got two goals past Brandon Rhodes to tie the game. As soon as the game was over, with only a minute to rest, it was back in the car to Rouses Point, NY. Again, as tired as the boys were, they pulled together and tied Rouses Point 2 to 2. Jackson Hickey scored the first goal off a nice pass from Jared Amstein in the first period and a second goal scored unassisted by Alex Roberge in the third period. As always, we would love to see you at the games. Home games are Sunday mornings at 8:10.
